Crew Logistics and Travel Arrangements are always one of the more difficult and expensive reality of any delivery for the client. Due to the nature of our busines, return arrangements often need to be changed due the variable nature of weather and sailing conditions.
One airline we highly recommend is AirTran Airways. They have inexpensive flights covering most of our operational area and their fares are anywhere from $90-300 for business class. By booking business class you get a ticket that allows for making changes without being penalized unlike Delta and some of the others that charge $100 plus the
rate that is in effect at the time of travel. On a job we did in January 2004, the lowest fare from Delta was $549 coach from PNS (Pensacola) to NAS (Nassua, Bahamas) after the change to leave 2 days earlier, the penalty was $100 and the fare was $1010 for a hit of $561 additional cost. It would have been more cost effective to go AirTran for $239 coach or $377 biz class if they had seats.
